After getting into a bit of leather craft over the holidays I decided it's time I built myself some useful stuff. The first of these is a leather apron I can use to do BBQ but also in and around the shop as I craft up other things.

So to begin let's start with the materials and tools we will need.

Materials:

  1. 4oz-5oz Double Shoulder Vegetable Tan Leather - to make the apron and pockets
  2. 7oz-8oz Vegetable Tan Leather - to make straps
  3. 28x rivets of choice
  4. 1x stud connector
  5. 1x 1.5" D ring
  6. 1x 2" D ring
  7. Waxed shoe/leather thread

Tools:

  1. Ruler or Square
  2. Exact-o Knife or another knife to cut the leather with
  3. 3mm hole punch
  4. 6mm hole punch
  5. 4mm diamond pricking irons
  6. Maul or Mallet or Hammer
  7. Slicker
  8. Awl
  9. Bevel Stamp
  10. Leather molding picks
  11. 2x Leather sewing needles
  12. Bevel Stamp
  13. Rivet setter
  14. Sponge
  15. Tupperwear box
  16. 2x towels (not microfibre)

Consumables:

  1. Feibing's Pro Dye: Light Brown
  2. Feibing's Leather Balm with Atom Wax
